Fifty Designers Better Than Me

These are just a few of the designers that make me feel excited and passionate to be a designer—and also make me feel worse about myself, because they are so good. And for the record, there are WAY MORE than 50 designers who are better than me. These are just a few of my favorites.

ZeroCater

ZeroCater is a catering concierge service that originated in the San Francisco Bay area. These are some vector illustrations that I created for their “family-style lunch” campaign. The imagery was based on famous works of art that included a “family dining” atmosphere.

Werewolf Snacks

I didn’t feel like making any snacks or desserts for a Halloween party I was going to, so I just picked up some Whoppers and Kisses. I decided it’d be funny to call them Werewolf testicles and nipples and create complete packaging for them. A lot less work than just baking something, right? Gold Addy […]

Various Work

Physicians Plus This was my entry for the Physicians Plus “You Get The Gist” contest. The goal was to redo the original song used in their commercial and record yourself performing it. My song and video came in first and won me a sweet Gretsch Black Falcon! The Dam Bar I designed this koozie for […]

United Way Berry Bash

United Way’s Rosenberry Society has an annual event called the Berry Bash. In 2015, the event was held at Wisconsin Aviation and they wanted to have a Top Gun theme. I designed the invites to include a Top Gun style logo, icons representing movie items, and a cut-out paper plane that people could assemble. The […]

Rural Mutual Insurance

Rural Mutual Insurance: Keep Wisconsin Strong The “Keep Wisconsin Strong” campaign from Rural Mutual Insurance featured my design and music. For the TV and radio ads, I recorded an acoustic version of “On Wisconsin,” the Wisconsin State Song and UW-Madison Fight Song. (Created at KennedyC) Silver Addy Award Rural Mutual Insurance: Farm Safety Infographics These […]

Project Wisconsin

Project Wisconsin: Wisconsin Storytime Wisconsin Storytime was a weekly, history-based, yearlong collaboration project. Each week a different Wisconsin designer presented their visual take on a different story from our state’s past. 52 stories. 52 designers. 52 weeks. We were lucky to have so many great Wisconsin designers involved. The project ended with a month-long exhibit […]

The Owls Album Cover Wall Art

Here is a set of custom album covers I created for my daughter’s room. I used the characters from her bedding set and created a fictitious band called “The Owls.” Each album cover centers around one of my favorite bands of all-time—the Beatles, Who, Kinks and Doors—and features their logos recreated as “The Owls.” I […]

Madison Mallards Baseball

I was contacted by the Madison Mallards to create a “retro-gaudy-80s-throwback-style” jersey to be used as an alternative jersey for Sunday home games. Since I’m a HUGE baseball fan, this was a very fun project. It was also a blast to see them on the field in action! I’ve also created a handful of Mallards […]

Logos

Here are some various logos that I have created for clients, personal projects and strangers.

Kennedy Communications

KennedyC “Shining Themed” Holiday Invite The 2016 KennedyC holiday invite paid homage to one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time—The Shining!? Why not. Besides the famous quote that appears on the front of the invite, the finer nods to the movie included hand-stamping the room number “237” onto the keys, photoshopping my boss’ […]

The Josh Cox Experiment

I like to rock and roll from time to time as The Josh Cox Experiment. This is the promotional box set I created for the release of my debut album, Rock and Roll Daydream. I filled it with fun “rock and roll” items and then delivered it to local radio stations. Featured on For Print […]

Illustrations

Before I ever knew what graphic design was, I was busy drawing, painting and being a back-to-back coloring contest champion.

The Fall Classic: A Baseball Themed Wedding

My wife and I had a baseball themed wedding. It was nothing TOO crazy, but we did incorporate as much old-time baseball as we could into the design and planning of it. We created scorecard invites, wedding program tickets, and wedding party baseball card team sets. Gold Addy Award We carried the baseball theme into […]

Culligan Water

Culligan Thirstiest Office The “Thirstiest Office” was a social media contest from Culligan Water. Each state in the Midwest had their own contest conducted by the dealers, and used unique state-specific graphics—water glass and straw image, state lingo, etc. (Created at KennedyC) Silver Addy Award Culligan Problem Water These commercials were created as part of […]

Birdman’s Fine Pheasant Fare

This was a total site redesign for Birdman’s Fine Pheasant Fare—a family-owned Wisconsin business that produces some of the best tasting, leanest and healthiest meat snacks around. Their old unresponsive site wasn’t adequately showcasing their products or story. The redesign includes more focus on imagery, a cleaner and more appetizing look and a fully functioning […]

Badge Archive Collection

My dad has been playing in a band since 1969. He has tons of old recordings on cassette and I’ve slowly been transferring them over to cds for him and his old bandmates. I decided that I’d also create a cover for each as part of a series—his own version of Dylan’s Bootleg Series.

Arrested Development Album Covers

I’m a HUGE fan of Arrested Development. After reading that each episode in season four of the show’s reboot was going to focus on a different character, I thought it would be fun to create a series of art doing the same. After seeing Ty Mattson’s Homeland project, I decided to create an album cover […]
